PCI’s specialised service package for management and monitoring of stored product insect pests in food processing and export industries.
It involves the use of pheromone lures and traps and helps in locating sources of infestation. This optimises the timing of taking corrective action and acts as an efficacy indicator for the pest management measures being implemented as part of the overall food safety programme in accordance with HACCP guidelines. The service uses the StorGard® range of insect monitoring pheromones and devices from Trece Inc., U.S.A.
